Celebrity Style the Narrow Shoe Way
Remember that television show “The Look for Less,” which recreated a high-end look at a low-end price? We thought we’d create our own variation on that theme in our newest blog category: Celebrity Style the Narrow Shoe Way-The Look in Narrow. With the help of our new sister blog, called Celebrity Style the Narrow Shoe Way, this new “look in narrow” is all about finding celebrity style inspiration from the narrow shoes on up. Now, not only can we show you our picks for narrow width shoe alternatives to the shoes the celebs wear (which, of course typically aren’t narrow), we can inspire you with a lower-end alternative to their stylish outfits, as well.
The Look in Narrow: Blake Lively’s Animal Print Pumps
NEW YORK, NY – JANUARY 26: Actress Blake Lively and designer Jason Wu attend Jason Wu For Target Private Launch Event at Skylight SOHO in New York. Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively wore a cream and black shift dress with ruffle at the waist from the designer’s Spring 2012 collection (see a pink and white version on our sister blog ). Statement jewelry pieces, including salmon colored earrings along with Christian Louboutin leopard print pumps completed the look.
Available in only in medium and a bit higher in price point than we’d like to go, we’ve reinterpreted the her look starting, of course, from the narrow pumps on up! Our narrow shoe pick would be this great leopard print pump (click on the shoe to learn more about it). The Look in Narrow: Kate Middleton’s Boots
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William traveled to Denmark, earlier this month, to attend a UNICEF East Africa Crisis event. They were hosted by Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary (pictured here to Kate’s right).
The Duchess wore red LK Bennett Coat with a Vecceli Italy Belt and Stuart Weitzman for The Cool People Zipkin knee high boots, for the event. Unfortunately, they aren’t available in our narrow width!
While we were crushed they weren’t narrow, we were happy to find another Stuart Weitzman boot that is available in narrow for our “Look in Narrow,” that a we think is an equally nice alternative!
Our narrow width pick is the Stuart Weitzman Demi! Both pairs of boots have a ¾” inch platform. The Demi’s heel is 3 ½ inches and is a pull-on with stretch fabric added to the upper. The stretch fabric may actually hug the leg better (the the Zipkin’s heel is a bit higher at 4 1/2 inches and it has a side zipper). Reviews on on the fit and comfort of the Demi and the fit around the calf have been great!
While we haven’t, as of yet, identified what Princess Mary wore to the event, we’ll let you know as soon as we do! In the mean time, we took the liberty of interpreting both Royals’ styles, from their shoes on up, in “ready-to- wear” clothing here at Celebrity Shoe Style the Narrow Shoe Way.
