Narrow Platform Pumps in Black and the Six Degrees of Separation Game
From The Site Owner
This morning I felt as though I was playing a very bizarre game of Six Degrees of Separation. We’ll call it my own Six Degrees of Separation–from the sublime to the “almost sublime” to the “ridic” and back again Shoe Edition!
First, I opened an email from Jildor Shoes about this Elizabeth & James platform pump. While it isn’t available in a narrow width (surprise, surprise, right?), I definitely wanted to take a closer look and read the details about it so I could blog about “the look in narrow.” I was able to click on the shoe and go directly to their site and found myself clicking on other shoes I “might be interested in,” which of course, you can do here in our store listings or blog posts, also. So clever we site owner are! Anyway, I digress….
While I love the look of a sky-high platform stiletto, the 5″ heel and 1 1/4″ platform would unfortunately keep me away even if it was available in narrow — my arches just wouldn’t be able to handle them! Hence, the Mason is “somewhat sublime.”
As I continued to scroll and click, looking for additional trends to write about and what other narrow black platform pumps might be newly available on Jildor’s pages, I discovered Lorissa, by Sam Edelman. Nope, this one isn’t available in narrow either, but WOW, I just had to include this shoe — check out those SPIKES! “Ridic?” Maybe to some, maybe not to others but whatever your opinion, you’ve gotta admit, these are some pretty fierce looking pumps! If these were available in narrow would you wear them? Me, well, sorry, but I don’t think so. Okay, let’s continue on…..
So, clicking around again, I found myself clicking on this Stuart Weitzman Swoon in soft black patent. The Swoon is a great platform pump to wear to a business meeting or maybe even out on the town or to a special event and it’s available in other colors as well!* Definitely a more modern twist on a the classic pump. “Sublime” and yes, this one IS AVAILABLE IN NARROW! Oh, we do love Stuart Weitzman here at The Narrow Shoe.com!
*In fact you can also find it on our site here
, if you can’t find it in your size or color preference at Jildor. We also like the Platswoon which is basically the same shoe with a 4″ heel, which is a half inch shorter than the Swoon’s.
Continuing on my merry way, I came upon Camilla Skovgaard’s platform pump! Another “ridic.” Please note, I write “ridic” in a light-hearted way — just pointing out another extreme. No critical emails, please!
This platform pump would definitely keep the models on their feet on the catwalks during Fashion Week, wouldn’t it? As an added bonus, we could wear them in the ice and snow–no worries about the harsh elements outside, either! Definitely one to make tracks with, she types, while grinning!
Both the Lorissa and the Camila Skovgaard are true art pieces. I wonder if they’ll wind up in a Bata Shoe Museum exhibit someday? Personally, I think they should!
And, now back to the “sublime” again. Stuart Weitzman’s CrissJones in Black Patent. A great peep-toe platform pump with a chunkier heel. I see this one as a winner all around — it hits on all of the trends we’ve been following for a while — a chunkier heel, a peep-toe and a platform all in one. Truly “sublime,” AND it’s also available in our narrow width. Thank you Stuart! What would we do without you?
So, there you have it, our wild and wacky Six Degrees of Separation shoe edition from the sublime to the “almost sublime” to the “ridic” and back again Shoe Edition!
Hope you had as much fun viewing as I had writing!
