Winter Blues? Narrow Shoes & Clothes for your Vacation!

Winter Blues? Chase those blues away with Turquoise!
With record low temperatures and a dizzying amount of snow blanketing the US, lately, maybe you’re feeling a little blue? If so, you might be thinking of going on a winter vacation in February or March to cheer yourself up!
You’ll be blue no more when you take narrow shoes and clothing in Turquoise, the 2010 color of the year, on your vacation. Can’t get away right now? This calm and serene hue will make you feel relaxed even “virtually” when you view these great island inspired looks. Here’s our narrow shoe Turquoise color story for the whole family:

For Mom:
Mom, you might want to pair this Hurley one piece bathing suit with Jack Rogers Navajo Turquoise Sandals or try this Ferragamo wedge platform sandal for a slightly different look. For a cool look after your swim, slip into a Gabrielle Roca dress and pair it with the Naturalizer sandal jut to the right of it. Or, in a slightly different Turquoise hue, you might enjoy wearing this Norma Kamali dress with split front along with a great pair of Donald J. Pliner sandals.
For Dad:
These Hurley’s Trunks would be a great addition to your wardrobe, Dad! A straw Boardwalk Fedora will protect you from the sun. Add to it an Izod belt in gray, turquoise and black and a neutral pair of pants, a crisp white button down shirt and you’ve got a stylish outfit to wear after your swim. For a slightly different look, try a Tee and a pair of Board Shorts in a different hue of Turquoise. Boat shoes from Sperry Topsider are a good men’s narrow shoe choice. Or try a pair Birkenstock’s, another stylish and comfortable choice for a man’s narrow foot.
She’ll love this “I love Horses Tee, which she can pair with a roll cuff pair of denim pedal pushers or a great pair of plaid Bermuda shorts. A fun Peace Sign Tankini swimsuit will be a great addition for pool or beach time and this ’60’s inspired Tie Dye Maxie dress will be great for going out afterward. Great girls narrow shoes she might add to the look are: ( from left to right) New Balance sneakers in Blue and White, Jumping Jacks Sandals or this dainty ballet flat from Amiana Kids (it’s not a true narrow but runs narrow and does fit a narrow foot!).
These boys t-shirts will pair well with Khaki’s or a pair of dive board inspired trunks. He’ll want to go to “infinity and beyond” in a Buzz Lightyear tee (yes, Buzz has some Turquoise in his space suit!). Sandals from Birkis or Birkenstock or Bucks are narrow shoes for boys that will look nice with any outfit–causal or a bit more formal!
According to the experts at Pantone, the global authority on color, and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, “Whether envisioned as a tranquil ocean surrounding a tropical island or a protective stone warding off evil spirits, Turquoise is a color that most people respond to positively. It is universally flattering, has appeal for men and women, and translates easily to fashion and interiors. With both warm and cool undertones, Turquoise pairs nicely with any other color in the spectrum. Turquoise adds a splash of excitement to neutrals and browns, complements reds and pinks, creates a classic maritime look with deep blues, livens up all other greens, and is especially trend-setting with yellow-greens.”
Whether you’ll be enjoying nice “weather,” on a vacation this winter or in the Spring and Summer months, we hope you enjoy this sampling of the color you’ll be seeing everywhere in 2010!
